- Project: Increasing the rights of patients in B&H

All activities focus on promotion, protection and improvement of patient's rights. Project involves two pilot health institutions (Health Center in Tuzla and General Hospital „Prim. Dr. Adbulah Nakaš“ Sarajevo). Info desks, which will be installed in pilot institution during the implementation of the project, will allow patients to get information about their rights and to realize those rights in simple and efficient manner. Advising and collecting different opinions will be realized through organized meetings with interested groups and representatives of legislative and executive bodies from both entities.

Project aim: Establishing of mechanisms for quality achievement and protection of the patient’s rights in providing health services in B&H based on European declaration of patient’s rights.

Specific goals:

1. Initiation of procedures for presenting of measures and mechanisms which will provide higher level of inclusion and quality patient’s approach to the information and procedures for improvement and protection of patient’s rights in B&H.
2. BH public supports implementation of mechanisms for improvement and protection of patient’s rights and adoption of procedures by competent institutions and state bodies through citizens and media initiatives.

The main project activities are:

• Establishment of info desks in pilot health institutions;
• Adopting of mechanisms and measures for quality promotion of patient’s rights;
• Work on increasing of patient’s awareness and awareness of medical workers on promotion and protection of patient’s rights;
• Organizing meetings;
• Initiation of initiative to improve procedures for promotion and protection of patient’s rights

- Project: Decreasing of unemployment of Roma in BiH through implementation of Action Plan for employing Roma.

The project “Decreasing of unemployment of Roma in BiH through implementation of Action Plan for employing Roma” proposes a range of activities to influence the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees and the Coordination Committee to efficiently implement the enacted Action Plan and its annual operational plans. Moreover, the aim of the project is to raise awareness of competent institutions (entity ministries, institutes of employment, and competent authorities at the cantonal level) on the existence of the Action Plan, which the BiH government has committed itself to implement in the coming period. Special focus, i.e. advocacy actions, will be stimulating employers to employ Roma and encouraging of self-employment among Roma, as well as initiating educational programs for Roma in order to facilitate labour market inclusion, as measures of highest priority in 2009.

Project goal: Enhancing employment of Roma in BiH through successful implementation of the Action Plan for employing Roma, i.e. implementation of the Operational Plan for period 2009/2010.

Specific goals:

1. To research and analyze criteria and utilization of funds intended for the Program for employment and self-employment of Roma for 2009 and 2010,
2. To adopt quality program for employment of Roma for 2010 and 2011,
3. To advocate for providing of resources in the budget for employing Roma on state and entity level,
4. To monitor the implementation of the Action Plan and other policies in area of Roma employment, and inform the public about accomplished results.
5. To ensure that political parties are familiar with problems, expectations and requirements of Roma during the pre-election period (focusing on employment issues).

The main project activities are:

• Conducting a research on the manner of utilization of funds for Roma employment, i.e. to research results of implementation of the Program for employment and self-employment for 2009 – 2010. ;
• Media campaign;
• Organizing 1 working meeting with Roma associations;
• Organizing 4 working meetings with the newly elected representatives of authority at the end of 2010/beginning of 2011.
